hyundai i40 tourer 2012-2013 details and video

new hyundai i40 tourer 2012-2013 details:

The all-new Hyundai i40 Tourer will be available with a choice of very competitive Euro V-compliant engines: two petrol units and one diesel with two outputs. These power units cover a 115 to 177PS output spread.

All engines are tuned for strong torque delivery extended across a wide engine-speed range, making the i40 an enjoyable car to drive around town or on the motorway. Manual and automatic transmissions will also be offered.

In a segment where diesel models represent 77% of total sales, Hyundai is anticipating that the 'high-power' version of the 1.7-litre diesel unit developing 136PS will be the most popular engine among both private and fleet buyers. This engine's high torque output (325 Nm from just 2,000 rpm) will ensure a responsive drive with acceleration to 62mph in just 10.6 seconds for the manual model and a brisk 12.0 seconds with automatic.

The 'low-power' version produces 115PS which takes it from 0-62mph in 12.9 seconds.

The petrol engine is Hyundai's all new four-cylinder 2.0-litre GDI engine, called 'Nu'. This all-aluminum engine makes its debut in the i40, promising to deliver higher torque (for enhanced drivability), improved fuel economy and reduced emissions, plus undiminished durability and excellent NVH characteristics - similar to a multi-point fuel injected engine.

Equipped with GDI (gasoline direct injection) this 1999 cc unit generates 177PS which ensures that the i40 Tourer boasts best-in-class fuel economy. An i40 with this engine and a manual gearbox will accelerate to 62mph in just 9.7 seconds registering fuel economy figures of 39.2mpg (combined cycle) and achieve a CO2 rating of just 169 g/km.

The 1.6-litre petrol engine offers a well-proven 16-valve Gamma unit. It generates 135PS and accelerates from 0-62mph in 11.6 seconds.

The Hyundai i40 Tourer is equipped with the latest active and passive safety technologies to ensure maximum protection for its occupants. Active safety features, fitted as standard in many countries, include ESP (Electronic Stability Programme), ABS (anti-lock braking system), HAC (Hill Assist Control) to prevent roll-back when starting on an incline, VSM (Vehicle Stability Management), Brake Assist System and Emergency Stop Signal.

Several new 'active' features are introduced with i40. As part of the ESC system and a standard feature in Western Europe, VSM (Vehicle Stability Management) helps the vehicle stay in a stable position by reducing the amount of assistance if the driver is applying too much steering effort - and increasing assistance if the driver is applying too little effort.

An ESS (Emergency Stop Signal) system ensures that trailing drivers are alerted whenever the driver has to make a sudden or abrupt stop as the rear hazard lamps automatically flash repeatedly when the system senses forceful pressure being applied to the brakes.

A Lane Departure Warning System (available on Premium models as as part of the Assist Pack), automatically corrects steering when the vehicle veers out of the lane.

To assist drivers during reversing or parking manoeuvres, two active systems are available. A new rear-view parking camera is fitted with a 130-degree, wide-angle lens which transmits images to the navigation display (standard on Style and Premium).

The i40 can also be ordered with Smart Parking Assist System which features cutting-edge optional technologies that make parking easier than ever before. The system will automatically 'drive' the car into/out of parking spaces (between two cars parked in single file) that are only 100 cm longer than the vehicle, with the driver only having to control the brake and accelerator.

In terms of passive safety, every i40 on the road in the UK will be fitted with seven airbags - front, side, curtain and driver knee airbag available as standard on all models.

With its stiffer, stronger all-new body shell, Hyundai anticipates the i40 will continue the company's excellent safety record and attain the maximum 5-Star rating in Euro NCAP's impact assessment program.

2011-2012 hyundai i40 wagon details and video

The 4.7-metre long Hyundai i40 will first go on sale in wagon form, supported by Hyundai's industry-best, fully transparent Five Year Triple Care assurance. This package attracted European consumers to the brand in 2010 through its combination of a five-year unlimited warranty, five years of roadside assistance and five years of vehicle health checks.

The original inspiration for the Hyundai i40 can be traced back to the Genus concept car. Genus represented Hyundai's vision in Europe for a unique alternative within the D-segment, combining practicality with emotional design. Genus helped to forge a new identity for the company, with the debut of the hexagonal grill, a feature which has since become Hyundai's brand face in Europe.

"The design represents an evolution of Hyundai's unique form language, 'fluidic sculpture', creating a sleek, elegant wagon with uncompromised comfort and load capacity. While the exterior of Hyundai i40 stands out for its fluidic form and distinctive graphic elements, the interior design focuses on the sculptural and ergonomically optimized integration of its functions," concluded Buerkle.

The sporty design of the i40 does not impact negatively on levels of interior comfort. The wheelbase is 2.77 metres and the car delivers best-in-class dimensions for front head (1025mm), shoulder (1455mm), and leg (1170mm) room. This impressive roominess promises to give all occupants spending long periods of the time in Hyundai i40 the most comfortable D-segment ride available.

Cargo capacity in the i40 more than holds its own among competitors in the class, with figures ranging from 553 litres with the rear seats occupied up to 1719 litres with the rear seats folded down.

In a segment where diesel models represent over 75% of total sales, Hyundai is anticipating that the U-II 1.7-litre diesel unit developing 136 ps will be the most popular engine among both private and fleet buyers.

Hyundai's all new four-cylinder 2-litre GDI engine, called 'Nu', makes its debut in the Hyundai i40, promising deliver higher torque (for enhanced driveability), improved fuel economy and reduced emissions, plus undiminished durability and excellent NVH characteristics - similar to the multi-point fuel injected engine.

Equipped with GDI (gasoline direct injection) this 1,999 cc unit generates 177 ps and 213 Nm of torque which ensures that the i40 boasts best-in-class performance and fuel economy. An Hyundai i40 with this engine and a six-speed manual gearbox will accelerate to 130 kph (81 mph) in just 15.7 seconds, record fuel economy figures of 6.7 l/100 km (combined cycle) and achieve a CO2 rating of just 156 g/km.

Overall, Hyundai is expecting a 65/35% spread between diesel and gasoline-powered i40 sales.

In terms of environmental performance, the all-new Hyundai i40 will feature the latest technologies developed under Hyundai's Blue Drive™ eco-program, including Integrated Stop & Go (ISG), low rolling-resistance tyres and an alternator management system (AMS).

When combined with the U-II 1.7-litre diesel engine developing 115 ps, the inclusion of these Blue Drive features means that CO2 emissions and fuel economy register at a staggeringly low 113 g/km and 4.3 l/100km, respectively, making the i40 the most environmentally-friendly model in its segment.

Hyundai has continuously highlighted its desire to lead the way along the road to long-term environmental sustainability for the auto industry, and Hyundai i40 furthers the company's commitment to delivering models with class-leading eco-performance.

The NVH package aims to provide a quieter and more comfortable driving environment for diesel vehicles. The new acoustic package in Hyundai i40 utilizes materials such as air permeable carpet, sound absorbing layers for engine-room encapsulation, and textile wheel-arch liners to absorb noise sources from engine, road, and muffler, providing a 20% improvement in interior noise levels (on Articulation Index), and a 3dB reduction of outside engine noise when idling.

The Hyundai i40 uses the latest active and passive safety technologies to ensure maximum protection for its occupants. Active safety features, fitted as standard in several countries, include ESP (Electronic Stability Program), ABS (anti-lock braking system), Hill Start Assist Control (to prevent roll-back when starting on an incline), VSM (Vehicle Stability Management), Brake Assist System and Emergency Stop Signal.

In terms of passive safety, every Hyundai i40 on the road in Europe will be fitted with up to nine airbags - front, side and curtain, with driver knee airbag available as standard on all models. Hyundai anticipates the i40 to continue the company's excellent safety record and attain the maximum 5-star result under Euro NCAP's impact assessment.

2011-2012 new hyundai elantra features and video

For 2012, the Elantra gets a few small updates including a new Active Eco System, which improves the car’s stellar gas mileage by up to seven percent by smoothing throttle response. There is also a new horn and revised steering so the car tracks even straighter.

The Elantra possesses some of the boldest exterior styling of any car in the competitive compact segment, wearing Hyundai’s latest “fluidic sculpture” design concept and its fluid lines. The sedan’s positives continue when you move to the interior where it has one of the most modern and well put together interior in its class. There’s also plenty of room on the inside for passengers, as somehow it has more interior volume than a Nissan Maxima and is technically considered a midsize car by the EPA based on the amount of space you get.

Under the hood, there is only one engine option: a 148-horsepower, 1.8-liter four-cylinder that is mated to a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The front-wheel drive Elantra will get you 29 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway, regardless of transmission or trim level. Other competitors in the segment require specialized Eco packages that add thousands to the base price to reach these mileage targets, but that isn’t so on the Elantra.

Moving inside, the 2012 Elantra features seating for up to five passengers and a standard 60/40 split folding backseat for when you need to move longer objects. The Elantra is only available in two trim levels (GLS and Limited) and both come well equipped. Standard equipment includes power windows and locks, USB/iPod input jack, satellite radio, remote keyless entry, and premium cloth seating. Further tech options are also available, like a high-res navigation system and Bluetooth® connectivity. The Elantra is also available with class exclusive rear heated seats, in addition to front heated seats and leather upholstery.

Safety features include all-disc antilock brakes, six airbags, an electronic stability system, and a tire pressure monitoring system (all standard). The 2011 Elantra with identical features received a Top Safety Pick Award from the IIHS and this year’s model will be no exception.

Fresh off of a complete redesign in 2011, the 2012 Hyundai Elantra picks right up where the previous year left off delivering great value and 40 highway mpg across all trim levels.

The 2012 Hyundai Elantra remains the class of the compact segment and a great choice for commuters who want to save some green at the pump or for young
